Thank you for joining us to celebrate our DWC annual
family picnic at Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton last
August 18th, we enjoyed watching a parade of decorated
boats in celebration of the first annual "Princess of the Lake Pageant" at the lake. See an article.
Sandra McGee provided a lively short
presentation about CAD conference and was
surprised when we presented her a nice gift of cold pressed balsamic vinegar bottle
to thank for her time.
There were raffles to provide a variety of prizes including several wine bottles, a book and others for winners at present.
Kathy Darby and Sara
Gerhold from Sprint Relay VRS provided information about videophone, and several
prizes as though they showed us the exhibit booth. Thank to Sprint Relay VRS for a
nice giant Subway sandwiches.
Cassandra attended the 3rd Annual Book & Author Luncheon hosted by the Quota of International of Candlewood Valley on September 8th in Danbury and enjoyed listening to three featured authors; Mary Ann Tirone Smith of “Girls of Tender Age”, Tony Abbott of “The Secrets of Droon” and Charles Monagan, Connecticut Magazine Editor and Connecticut Icons. The entertainment was provided by the Cridders. Their fund was proceeded to support Women’s Center of Greater Danbury. Cassandra won one raffle for wine bottle basket gift. Mary Ann Tirone touched us deeply by sharing her childhood experience about her classmate being raped and murdered so she was motivated to become an author. Melanie Danyliw, Women’s Center of Greater Danbury shared few stories about domestic violence victims and appreciated the QIC and us for sponsoring their cause. QIC President Brenda Bonacci mentioned about DWC for donating their support to our Deaf Women’s Day Luncheon event very briefly. There were three deaf women including DWC members Joan Hanna and Cassandra attending at the event.
